2. Campaign Contributions (Donations)

By making a financial contribution (donation) to the Akbik for Mayor Campaign through our Website, you represent, warrant, and agree that:

  • You are an **individual resident of Ontario, Canada**.
  • You are making this contribution from your own personal funds and not on behalf of a corporation, trade union, or other entity. **Corporations and trade unions are legally prohibited** from contributing to municipal election campaigns in Ontario under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
  • Your total contribution to this campaign does not exceed the legal limit of **$1,200** per individual to a single candidate.
  • You agree to provide your **full legal name and residential address** as required by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. Anonymous contributions cannot be accepted. You explicitly acknowledge and agree that your legal name, residential address, and contribution amount will be provided to the Clerk of the Town of Milton for legal compliance audits, and that these records will become a matter of public record.
  • You acknowledge that political contributions to municipal campaigns in Ontario are not tax-deductible for federal or provincial income tax purposes. However, they may be eligible for municipal contribution rebate programs depending on the bylaws of the Town of Milton.

3. Volunteer & Canvassing Code of Conduct

If you register as a volunteer on our Website, you agree to represent the campaign in a professional, honest, and respectful manner. When interacting with voters or members of the public on behalf of the campaign, you agree to:

  • Be respectful of diverse viewpoints and maintain courtesy at all times
  • Respect the privacy and property of residents (e.g., complying with "No Trespassing" or "No Soliciting" signs where legally required, and leaving properties immediately if requested)
  • Not engage in abusive, harassing, or discriminatory behavior, or distribute false or misleading information
  • Report any issues or conflicts to campaign coordinators immediately

4. Intellectual Property

All content on this Website, including but not limited to text, images, videos, graphics, logos, and design elements, is owned by the Akbik for Mayor Campaign or licensed to us, and is protected by Canadian copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may:

  • View, download, and print content for personal, non-commercial use only

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, or modify any Website content without our prior written consent

5. User-Generated Content
